Perry was commissioned by the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland to create a fashion film for Showcase, the annual exhibition of Irish design.
The film, Fí — an Irish word meaning both weave and close-knit — was conceived as an alternative to the usual fashion show at the event, and as a way of promoting Irish fashion at home and abroad.
Perry created a series of short films casting young people from diverse backgrounds. His initial idea was to start with traditional Irish dancing that echoes the click clack of the loom and end with Loah (the Irish/Sierra Leonean singer) who reflects the new diversity of modern Ireland.
Fí was presented at Showcase events in Dublin, New York, Tokyo and Paris.
